Living Hope Woodwork was established in 2009 and we sold the first casket in 2010.
Living Hope Woodwork’s name comes from a personal experience I had several years before, inspiring me to choose Living Hope as my business name. It leads to and or reminds me that Jesus Christ is my only living hope I have (“Repent everyone of you and be baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38).
Inspiration to build caskets comes from growing up Amish, being in a community of people, and seeing and living the examples that when a death occurred in the community, the community would come together and take care of most of the needed services themselves—including the building of a casket. In this, I found a purpose and it would fulfill a genuine need without a sales pitch attached to it.
